If you’re not quite ready to fully embrace a bold fall colour scheme, discover how to decorate your table for fall using your whole home colour palette in my Early Fall Grey & White Tablescape.
Transitioning your space for the fall season can be quite challenging, especially if you’re apprehensive about adding the brilliant reds, yellows, oranges and browns of fall colour to your home.
My whole home colour palette is grey & white, so I styled this Early Fall Grey & White Tablescape with that colour scheme in mind. This non-traditional colour palette still says “fall” in a beautifully distinct way!
This tablescape for fall started with the table runner, one of my favourite tablescape styling tools. This table runner has a neutral background, white stitching and dark and light grey velvet leaves that are so pretty for this season.
Next, distressed white wooden candle holders with tall Raylan Candles in Sage from Urban Barn were placed at each end of the table to add some height and balance to this long 8-foot table.
Each place setting includes a grey round woven placemat, grey stoneware dinner and salad plates, topped with grey & white fringed dinner napkins folded in The Knot. The crystal glass tumblers are perfect for wine or water, and the Oneida fine flatware adds beauty and style to the table.
You won’t believe this, but the two large grey pumpkins at each end of the table were initially “pink” when I purchased them from HomeSense. I painted them with grey and blue chalk paint, applied clear wax, then buffed them up for a shiny finish.
I then added four velvet pumpkins (grey & white) that I made by hand. Check out the great tutorial called DIY Velvet Pumpkins Just Like the Pros, by My Wee Abode. I’m surprised at how easy and inexpensive they are to make! The velvet pumpkins tie-in nicely with the same coloured velvet leaves on the table runner.
For those of you who know me well, you know I’m obsessed with prayer beads. I have so many in various sizes and colours. These grey and natural Wooden Heart Beaded Garlands add a little farmhouse flare!
How about this gorgeous flower arrangement? I love to shop at Flowers & Company in Langley for their wide selection of flower arrangements. This beauty features grey & white hues and includes a large white Hydrangea, Queen Anne’s Lace, Eucalyptus, blue Thistle, and white Veronica. The arrangement sits in a sweet ceramic pitcher vase for a little more farmhouse charm.
I hope I have inspired you to create a pretty fall tablescape for you, your family and friends to enjoy! If so, please give it a Pin!
